Engaged Sustainability is officially 'Inspired by Gaia Education'. The Ecovillage Design Education (EDE) by Gaia Education is a 4 week intensive programme that has been running successfully for over 10 years. The EDE curriculum has been developed from experience and expertise of the most successful eco villages and transition settings across the Earth. This is shorter version of the EDE, offered to people that are working or studying in or around London, taking place over the course of 4 weekends. The learning space is creative, interactive and engaging, and nothing like the classroom you may know. You will receive a personal certificate for the weekends you have completed.

Personal projects

We will apply what we learn each weekend in teams on one or more projects, either your own that of another participant. This can be a future project or one that is already established, and can vary from a urban community project to a rural eco project and anything in between. If you are applying for the full programme ideally this is a project that has a community, ecology and economy dimension. Otherwise make sure your project includes the topic that we cover in your selected weekends.

Who is it for?

Social entrepreneurs, students of sustainability degrees, permaculture designers, friendly activists, social workers, change makers. Anyone with an interest in gaining skills to design a better society, transition to more sustainable patterns of production and consumption, and lead a more meaningful, happier and healthier life.
